Does this software support full unicode file encoding?

I spoke with our developers and I need some information from you on the extent of unicode/utf8 support that you need - the protocols that need to support this and the type of unicode support (UTF8, UCS-2, UCS-4)
UTF8 support is expected to be available in late May or early June.
